We’ve all heard the ranting and raving by health enthusiasts, including my own harangue about the value of preventive care and staying active and fit.

Too many, of us, however, sit at the sidelines, waiting for life to force us into action before taking a proactive role to support health. I’d like to share a recent personal experience that I hope will jolt you up and off the couch and into preventive action before life aims it’s furious wrath on your less than proactive buns.

About four weeks ago while vacationing with my family I had an accident that ruptured the quadriceps tendon and muscle of my left leg to snap the muscle into a bundled mess by my hip. Ouch!
