BIOLOGIC Pharmamedical is involved in the research and development of nutrient- and nutraceutical- based technologies or analogs of these natural compounds using pharmaceutical or medical research models to help define how they interact and modulate cell signaling and behavior. The genomic influences and proteomic changes induced by these botanical extracts and their molecular constituents are identified and mapped and then related to disease pathology.
An understanding of how these biomarkers are influenced by these natural medicinal agents either by phosphorylation, ubiquitination, acetylation, or methylation; by degradation or by transcriptional or translational influences, for example, helps us map a path upstream and downstream of the target to unravel the full scope of a natural medicine’s potential. The ultimate objective is to gain a better understanding of the mechanisms involved in pharmacology in order to produce a more effective and selective drug design that is repeatable, reliable, and safe.
