Biologic Pharmamedical Wins 2026 Industry Innovation Award at White & Private Label Expo New York

Updated: 3 hours ago

Research-driven nutraceutical company recognized for an innovation model that brings pharmaceutical-level scientific rigor to natural health.

NEW YORK, September 30, 2026 — Biologic Pharmamedical has been named the recipient of the 2026 Industry Innovation Award at the White & Private Label Expo in New York, recognizing the company’s approach to research, intellectual property and the development of next-generation natural health technologies.

The award was presented following Biologic’s presentation, “Where Pharmacology Meets Nature,” which explored a fundamental challenge within the nutraceutical industry: natural ingredients can vary considerably in their chemical composition, yet biological activity ultimately depends upon the specific compounds contained within them.

Biologic’s research philosophy was developed by scientist and founder Dr. Franco Cavaleri, whose work has focused on understanding natural compounds at the molecular level and applying greater scientific precision to their development.

Rather than simply extracting a botanical and standardizing it to a broad concentration, Biologic’s research model begins by identifying the bioactive molecules responsible for biological activity. The company then investigates how those compounds interact with molecular pathways, drug targets and gene-regulatory mechanisms before developing extraction and manufacturing processes designed to produce consistent, reproducible compositions.

That approach has led to a growing portfolio of patented and proprietary technologies, including BioBDMC™️ advanced curcumin technology, Glyvia™️ plant-derived functional sweetening technology, Ashwith™️ ashwagandha, Thermobutyrate™️ and Thermogallate™️, among others.

“This award means far more to us than recognition of a single product,” said Christina Weizmann, President & COO of Biologic Pharmamedical, who accepted the award in New York. “It recognizes a philosophy that Franco has spent years building—that natural health products deserve the same scientific curiosity, precision and rigor we expect in pharmaceutical research.”

Weizmann added:

“Plants are extraordinarily complex. Two extracts carrying the same ingredient name can have very different chemical compositions and therefore potentially very different biological effects. Our work is about understanding those differences, identifying what is actually driving the activity and then engineering technologies that can deliver that activity consistently.”

From Research to Commercialization

Biologic’s model extends beyond ingredient discovery. The company works across the continuum from research and intellectual property development through formulation, manufacturing and commercialization, allowing scientific discoveries to become practical technologies for consumer brands.

One example presented at the Expo was Glyvia™️, Biologic’s patented plant-derived functional sweetening technology.

Unlike a conventional sweetener developed solely to replace sugar, Glyvia was conceived as a broader functional platform and has been incorporated into applications ranging from granulated kitchen sweeteners and tablets to functional beverages, electrolytes, pre-workout formulations, curcumin chai and thermogenic coffee.

As Weizmann told the audience in New York:

“Glyvia isn’t one product. It’s a platform.”

The technology is also behind ZODA — Soda Evolved, demonstrating how Biologic’s intellectual property can move from laboratory research into a finished consumer concept.

Continuing Dr. Cavaleri’s Research Legacy

The recognition carries particular significance for Biologic as the company continues to advance the scientific work established by Dr. Cavaleri while expanding its partnerships with supplement companies, functional-food and beverage brands, manufacturers and other organizations seeking differentiated ingredient technologies.

“For us, innovation isn’t about finding the next fashionable ingredient,”

Weizmann said. “It’s about asking better scientific questions of ingredients we think we already understand.”

“We are deeply honoured to receive the 2026 Industry Innovation Award, and incredibly proud to continue building on the body of research that brought Biologic here.”
